Regulations for the Self-study Center of the Language Learning and Writing Center
1. The self-study center is located in Zhi Xing Building (Front), Room 203. Its main function is to provide a self-study space that NYCU students, faculty, and staff can use to improve their language skills.

During the Semester
Monday—Friday 09:00~16:00 (Closed in case of events)
Weekends and Holidays Closed
Summer and Winter Vacation Closed
Note: The center reserves the right to revise the opening hours of the self-study center.

6. Loss and compensation method: Theft or intentional damage, in addition to the liability for compensation, will be dealt with in accordance with the university regulations.

(1) Reading and audio-visual area:
- We provide 16 reading seats, 2 computer audio-visual seats, 4 laptops and 10 iPads in this area.
- The books are available in an open-shelf manner for users to borrow and use within the center. The collection of books in the self-study center is limited and the maximum number of books to be borrowed is 5.
- Books (Language type): Foreign Languages and Chinese.

(2) Magazines reading area :
- Magazine rack: Time, National Geographic, Discover Science that Matters.

(1) Food and drinks are prohibited.
(2) All books, magazines, and digital self-study materials are limited to use in the center and cannot be taken outside of the center.
(3) The language-learning magazines and books in the reading area are provided in an open-shelf manner for users to borrow and use within the center.
(4) Users can borrow electronic equipment (including laptop computers, desktop computers, and iPads) after the they pledge their ID card. When returning the electronic equipment without any damage, the ID card shall be returned immediately; if there is damage, compensation shall be made according to the damage.
(5) If the books or magazines are found to be damaged during borrowing, the staff of the center should be notified.
