課程說明 (Course Aims)

國立陽明交通大學國際高教培訓暨認證中心 (Higher Education Accreditation for Teaching, HEAT) 與英國高等教育學院 (Advance HE) 合作,針對全臺大專校院擬提升EMI教學策略與自我專業教學成長之教師,開設24小時的國際高教英語授課 EMI課程(Advance HE EMI Training for Professional Academics)。
本課程專為大專院校及高等教育的教師而設,旨在提升教師在專業領域英語授課 (EMI) 的教學技巧和教學策略,並協助其掌握與高等教育教學相關的最新理論和實踐。透過與國際知名的英國高等教育學院 (Advance HE) 合作,本課程將由來自英國高等教育學院 (Advance HE) 國際高教培訓講師和國立陽明交通大學國際高教培訓團隊講師共同授課,提供兼具國際視野和臺灣實務經驗的專業培訓。

The Higher Education Accreditation for Teaching (HEAT) at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) is collaborating with the Advance Higher Education Academy (Advance HE) in the UK to offer a 24-hour EMI course aimed at teachers across universities in Taiwan looking to enhance their EMI teaching strategies and personal professional teaching growth. This course is designed specifically for instructors in higher education, with the goal of improving their EMI teaching strategies within their professional fields. Through collaboration with the internationally renowned Advance HE, the course will be co-taught by instructors from the international higher education training team at Advance HE and the NYCU HEAT team, offering professional training that combines an international perspective with practical experience from Taiwan.

  • 國際認證的卓越教學 (Internationally Accredited Excellence in Teaching and Learning) : 本課程經過英國高等教育學院 (Advance HE) 嚴格審核,獲得國際認證,彰顯其教學內容和品質符合國際高等教育教學標準,輔助教師實際應用提升教學成效。
  • 多元化師資與教學 (Diverse Faculty and Instruction) : 由來自國內外頂尖大學且教學經驗豐富的專業講師共同授課,提供多元化的教學觀點和實務經驗,拓展教師的國際視野和教學格局。
  • 理論與實踐相結合 (Integration of Theory and Practice) : 課程內容涵蓋有效的  EMI 教學策略、高等教育教學理論與實踐、教學設計與評量、科技輔助教學等多個面向,並提供演練機會,讓教師將所學知識應用於實際教學情境。

  • Optional Professional Certification for International Higher Education (HEA Fellowship):Participants have the option to apply for additional professional certification in teaching from Advance HE, enhancing their personal professional development and international competitiveness.

課程結構 (Syllabus)

培訓以英語進行。 
The course will be delivered in English.


本培訓無學分抵免。培訓時將嚴格控管出席,24小時培訓中,學員僅得請假3小時。當出席率達21小時(含)以上,學員將同時獲得英國高等教育學院 (Advance HE)結業證書,以及國立陽明交通大學推廣教育結業證明書。
This training does not offer credit exemptions. Attendance will be strictly monitored throughout the 24-hour training program, with participants allowed to take up to 3 hours of leave. Upon attending at least 21 hours (inclusive), participants will receive a completion certificate from Advance HE as well as a certificate of completion from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University.

課程由英國高等教育學院 (Advance HE) 推派之國際講師(英國、澳洲等地專業教師)搭配臺灣已獲得英國高等教育學院國際高教會士/高階會士認證之講師 (HEA Fellowships),主要為國立陽明交通大學、國立清華大學與國立成功大學教師共同授課。

The course will be taught by international instructors appointed by Advance HE (professional educators from the UK, Australia, and other regions) alongside instructors from Taiwan who have already obtained the HEA Fellowships from Advance HE. The primary instructors include teachers from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, National Tsing Hua University, and National Cheng Kung University.

Upon completing the training with an attendance of at least 21 hours (inclusive), participants will be awarded a completion certificate from Advance HE as well as a certificate of completion from NYCU. Absences exceeding 3 hours will result in the training being considered incomplete.

Q1. 什麼是HEAT?
國際高教培訓暨認證中心(Center for Higher Education Accreditation for Teaching,HEAT),本中心的任務和目標為增展教師/博士生/博士後高教專業教學知能、提昇高教教學品質與成效、獲得國際高教教學認證,連結全球高教舞台;本中心特色為結合國際與在地的高教培訓內容、協助大學教師教學專業永續發展、創造跨領域教師教學交流與合作。截至2024年4月,已成功協助164位教師/博士生/博士後榮獲HEA Fellowship。

Q2. 什麼是Advance HE?
英國高等教育學院(Advance HE),為英國最具代表性的高教培訓暨認證國家型機構,隸屬於 GuildHE(英國高等教育協會) 和 Universities UK(英國大學協會)。全球機構夥伴含英國及全球各地的高教相關機構及大專校院共計有439個會員機構,包含遍布31個國家的106個高教機構會員。截至2024年4月,全球近19萬高等教育人員榮獲HEA Fellowship。

Q3. 「國際高教英語授課EMI課程計畫」內容與長時培訓「國際高教培訓暨認證 」內容差異為何?
「國際高教培訓暨認證 」偏重於一般性的教學策略,包括課程設計、實證教學策略與學生評量等,其主焦點不限於使用英語授課,而是更廣泛地涵蓋高等教育的教學方法。而 「國際高教英語授課EMI課程計畫」則聚焦於使用英語作為授課語言的課程設計與教學策略,特別強調提升課堂參與度與互動。此外,「國際高教英語授課EMI課程計畫」透過推廣課程,讓非陽明交大教師透過系統性教學增能課程,認識高教教學專業標準架構(Professional Standards Framework,PSF),有機會自主申請HEA Fellowship。

Q4. 為什麼要開設EMI課程?
教育部「大專校院學生雙語化學習計畫」已推行數年,該計畫聚焦推動「重點培育」及「普及提升」兩大主軸,強化學生英語力、推動全英語課程(或稱EMI課程,English-Medium-Instruction Courses),整體提升高教國際競爭力。為了回應該計畫,最根本的重點在於老師與學生對EMI教學是否有足夠的認識、能力以及支持,因而本中心開設此EMI課程,期望共創台灣高品質的EMI教學環境。

Q5. 參與「國際高教英語授課EMI課程計畫」所需的英文程度要求為何?
本培訓課程因為跨國合作的培訓課程,課程主要使用的語言為英語,但並沒有特定要求參與教師學員的英文程度,重點在於參與者能夠有效地與自在的使用英語溝通意見和表達想法。即便參與者的英語非完美,只要能夠進行基本溝通,理解課程內容,並能在討論中表達自己的觀點即可。

Q6. 教師的英文程度尚待加強,可以參與「國際高教英語授課EMI課程計畫」嗎?
本課程旨在鼓勵參與者以英語積極參與課堂分享與分組討論和小組工作。能夠用英語表達自己的觀點和想法是參與此課程的重點,而不是英語的能力。

Q7. 課中是否會共備產出課程計畫或設計? 
透過小規模的活動,教師們有機會將培訓中習得的知識應用到自身的教學設計中。這些活動通常要求教師根據自己教授的科目來調整課程設計,使其能夠建構性的對應 (constructively aligned),符合PSF2023。另外,您也可能會與來自不同學科的教師討論,不僅可以增加教案的多樣性,更能促進跨學科的合作。教師可將培訓中所發想設計的課程設計當作基礎,日後再根據自己課堂的具體需求進行調整。

Q8. 修完「國際高教英語授課EMI課程計畫」的指標為何?代表可以操作 EMI 課程了嗎?
完成此培訓是教師在 EMI 教學領域邁出的重要一步。此課程的目標是為教師提供有效的教學策略與設計,使教師們能有效地在 EMI 環境中教授專業學科。完成培訓代表教師具備了操作 EMI 課程的基礎,但要真正的熟練 EMI 教學更需要教師在真實的教學環境中持續實踐所學,透過不斷的嘗試和調整來改進教學方法。​​​​​​​

Q9. 即便 EMI 教師熟練教學策略,但同學英文程度很差無法配合課中活動,怎麼辦?
面對學生英語程度不佳的挑戰,關鍵在於有耐心地引導他們從基礎開始,逐步提升。萬事起頭難,只要持續透過經驗累積,學生的英語能力和學科理解有機會逐步提高。若因初期的困難就放棄 EMI 教學,學生將失去在 EMI 領域成長的機會。透過設計過的有效教學方法,即使是英語較弱的學生也能參與 EMI 課程並從中受益。​​​​​​​

Q10. HEA Fellowship在國際和台灣的效益如何?為何我需要獲取Advance HE認證?
Advance HE所頒發的認證(HEA Fellowship),相當具國際公信力的高等教育教師認證,於全球許多高教機構,尤其在英國、澳洲、歐洲及亞洲等大學內皆有相關的教學認證課程與要求,能提供高教教師專業教學資格證明和肯定。​​​​​​​

Q11. 修課完畢後,我可以獲得什麼?對個人教學專業發展帶來什麼幫助?
修課完畢並符合出席規定後,獲得Advance HE EMI結業證書以及國立陽明交通大學推廣教育修課證明書。如學員欲自費申請HEA Fellowship,可獲得中心申請認證之相關資源和諮詢。
本課程不僅著重台灣EMI在地化教學策略,更是與國際接軌,以國際公認的專業標準架構(Professional Standard Framework 2023,PSF 2023)為核心主軸進行扎實且系統化的課程訓練,並邀請國內外講者分享課堂上的實務經驗,相信對教師未來EMI教學大有幫助。
